2026 – FSA Living Stone – YEAR OF PRAYER
This is also a special year, a year of favour!
Pope Leo XIV has proclaimed a “Special Year of St. Francis” to commemorate the 800th anniversary of the saint’s death. This Franciscan Jubilee Year is considered a gift for the entire Church and an occasion for authentic spiritual renewal.
This Year of St. Francis spurs all of us, each according to our possibilities, to imitate the poor man of Assisi, to form ourselves as far as possible on the model of Christ.
FSA Schools are invited to follow the example of St. Francis of Assisi by becoming witnesses of peace, humility and service.

Honouring the Jubilee Year of Saint Francis of Assisi
The Franciscan Friars of the Province of the Holy Spirit and FSA invite students in Franciscan Schools to be inspired by the
Peace Prayer of St Francis
to create an Artwork that reflects a contemporary vision of St Francis.
There are six age categories for students and another Challenge category for staff.
Three awards of $100 for the artists will be presented in each category, along with a handcrafted, studio glass 20th Anniversary Franciscan Cross – for the school.

Advent Awakening Retreat to Greccio & Assisi (Dec 2026)
Come be with FSA‘s expert guiding team to seek a retreat in the Franciscan tradition. We will look to Saint Francis and Saint Clare for example of how to enter deeply into the sanctity of Advent during the 800-year anniversary of ‘The Easter of St. Francis’
First, Greccio offers a mountain retreat where Francis experienced solitude and found peace. This special place highlights the humanity of Christ.
Then on to Assisi where our focus will be both spiritual and historical as we absorb the Franciscan family story. Engage in daily sessions and find quiet spots in the sacred sites and in the community to enrich your
spiritual practice.

Display Pull Up Banners
FSA offers pull up banners that are perfect for Assemblies, Liturgies and general display.
New in 2026 are two St Francis banners, incorporating the beautiful licensed artwork of Piero Casentini, celebrating the 800 year anniversary of St Francis’ Transit into Eternal Life.
We also have the classic banners based Francis’ seminal song poetry “The Canticle of the Creatures“. These feature the artwork of Sr. Mariella Erdman osf. Sr Mariella’s works illustrate all of the Canticle’s elements of nature.
